I am going to sign up for this with my wife, the traffic free nature of this makes it very tempting, she is looking forward to being able to ride around central London without worrying about taxis and buses and the such like.
Hi Ben. I've done Ride London three times. It's amazing and I recommend everyone does it at least once.Yes. It's closed-roads, which makes it even better. As you can ride on both sides of the road and not worry about cars.Always take it easy the first 10 miles. There can be crashes when the over-eager get too excited and think they're pros, but it really is one of the best events I've done.
I think they're changing the route this time as the Surrey Boroughs have said they don't want it anymore but it used to be really flat with 3 main climbs.Leith Hill had a real bite to it. Box is long but quite a steady 4 - 6%, but I don't think these will be in the new route.I'll definitely be entering. Good luck getting in on the ballot. I've never been picked in 3 attempts! But great to raise money for a charity.
@Ben Kay All signed up and ready to roll. Can't wait. If the old events are anything to go by then it'll be one of the best events of 2022. The m2M gang will be there. Have signed up for the 4.5 - 5 hours completion group. Hopefully see a few m2M community members around the route, too!Be quick if you want simplified entry. It's £89 for the first 10k entries. Everyone after this goes into a ballot and if not selected will only be able to enter via charities, which will have minimum fund raising thresholds. E.g. The last 3 I did where for different charities. Had to pay between £50 - 80 up front + commit to between £400 - 700 of fund raising. Which isn't really a bad thing as it's for charity but I know some people may struggle to commit to any type of fund raising.Good luck!
